Phy3D: a 3D Viewer for Phylogenetic Trees

Phy3D is a 3D viewer for phylogenetic trees. Speciation events are displayed in the plane according to the species tree, while duplication events are displayed in the other dimension.

Phy3D was developed at the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin by Nada Amin. The project was supervised by Prof. Dr. Martin Vingron.

The program uses Python and the visual module of VPython. Both need to be installed in order for the program to run. The program was tested with python2.2 and Visual-2002-04-17. Please let me know if it doesn't work in your environment. Logo
